| Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal stabbing of a woman found at 6550 Hillcroft Street about 8:30 a.m. on May 28.
The suspect, Walter Michael Oliver (b/m, 28), is charged with murder in the 185th State District Court. A booking photo of Oliver is attached to this news release.
The victim, Leondra Addis, 41, suffered multiple stab wounds.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives J. Caten and M. Barrow reported:
Officers responded to a report of an individual found deceased inside a dumpster at an apartment complex at the above address. A tenant made the discovery and then notified the apartment complex front office. The victim was found wrapped in a tarp or hard plastic wrapping.
An autopsy determined the victim’s identity as Ms. Addis, who resided at the apartment complex.
Further investigation led to the identity of Oliver as the suspect in this case and he was charged on Saturday (Aug. 21). Oliver was in jail on an unrelated aggravated assault charge.
