Two Suspects Arrested, Another Sought in February Fatal Shooting at 303 Rosamond Street
Houston police have arrested two suspects and are searching for a third suspect in the fatal shooting of a woman at 303 Rosamond Street about 11:55 p.m. on February 23.

The wanted suspect, John Marcos Araniva, 19, is charged with murder and tampering with evidence in the 183rd State District Court.  A 2020 booking photo of Araniva is attached to this news release.

Two other suspects – Joel Francisco Rojas, 23, and Sara Ramirez, 21 – are in custody and charged in the 184th State District Court.  Rojas is charged with murder and tampering with evidence and Ramirez is charged with tampering with evidence.  In addition, Ramirez is charged with aggravated robbery in a separate incident.  Booking photos of Rojas and Ramirez are also attached to this news release.

The three suspects are charged for their roles in the killing of Indigo Garza, 20.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant T. Hollohazy and Detective J. Jorsch reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at the apartment complex at the above address and found Ms. Garza unresponsive in the parking lot.  She had suffered a gunshot wound.  Paramedics pronounced her deceased.Witnesses stated the suspect’s vehicle, described only as a white minivan, was seen fleeing the scene after the shooting.

Further investigation led to the identities of the suspects as Araniva, Rojas and Ramirez.  On Wednesday (Aug. 31), Rojas and Ramirez were arrested without incident.  Anyone with information on the whereabouts of wanted suspect John Araniva is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
