Two Suspects Arrested, Charged in Shooting at 500 Hirsch Road
Charges have been filed against two suspects who fired shots at an undercover Houston police officer at 500 Hirsch Road about 9:20 p.m. last Friday (July 2).  

The suspects, Dezmond Treshown Maze (b/m, 24) and Torie David Pruitt (b/m, 29), are charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 208th State District Court.  Booking photos of both suspects are attached to this news release.

No officers were injured in this incident.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives A. Graf II and B. Godoy reported:

An on-duty undercover HPD officer was in an unmarked vehicle and traveling near the above address when suspects in a white Chevrolet Malibu fired at least two shots in his direction.  Neither the officer nor his vehicle were struck by the gunfire. The suspects then fled the area.

With assistance from the Texas Department of Public Safety Air Support Unit, the suspects were located and taken into custody by responding HPD patrol officers.  The suspects, identified as Maze and Pruitt, were subsequently charged for their roles in the incident.
