Mediaset Premium, the largest commercial broadcaster in the Italian market, has acquired the exclusive rights to broadcast all racing from the 35th America’s Cup in Italy, across all platforms.

With the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series continuing with events in Portsmouth, UK (July 23-24); Toulon, France (September 10-11) and Fukuoka, Japan (November 19-20), Mediaset Premium will provide live coverage (on its sport channel ‘Premium Sport HD’) and highlight programming on the free to air channel Mediaset Italia 2.

“We’re delighted to be partnering with Mediaset Premium to bring racing to our passionate Italian fan-base, who can enjoy the action beginning with this weekend’s Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series in Portsmouth and running all the way through the final match in Bermuda in June 2017,” said Harvey Schiller, the Commercial Commissioner of the 35th America’s Cup.

A Mediaset Premium spokesperson commented: “The America’s Cup has become an iconic sport in Italy, dating back to the first Italian challenges in the 1980s. Now, with Italy’s Francesco Bruni helming the Artemis Racing boat this weekend in Portsmouth, we are happy to offer our viewers the opportunity to share in the excitement of the modern America’s Cup.”

Racing this weekend in Portsmouth is on July 23-24, beginning at 1330 local time (GMT+1).
