| Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the shooting of a man at 6333 Chimney Rock Road about 3:45 p.m. on Thursday (March 24).
The suspect, Douglas Alberto Iglesias, 26, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 182nd State District Court. His booking photo is attached to this news release.
The victim, Antonio Oscar Elizondo, 26, suffered a gunshot wound to the head.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officer J. Montalvo reported:
HPD officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment complex at the above address. They learned Mr. Elizondo was shot by his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend after a dispute. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported Elizondo to the hospital in critical condition.
The suspect returned to the scene and investigators recovered a gun from his possession. Iglesias admitted to his role in the incident and was subsequently arrested and charged.
