TIJUANA (Aug. 25, 2017) Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles continues to win. This time it was a 2-1 win against visiting Pachuca FC in a Week 7 LIGA MX 2017 Apertura match Friday at Estadio Caliente.

Damian Musto sent in a late goal to help the Xoloitzcuintles to its third-straight win. Coach Eduardo Coudet’s team added three more points in the standings after being unbeaten in its last four matches. Club Tijuana is now 3-3-1 with 10 points after starting the season 0-3.

Musto not only sent in the game-winner in the 87th minute but he did it in style. The Argentine midfielder sent in his goal via a bicycle kick. He took a pass by Alejandro Donatti that was deflected into the penalty area. Musto took air, flipping his legs up and connecting with his right foot. Pachuca goalkeeper Alfonso Blanco could only watch it bounce inside the right post into the net.

The game winner came at a time in which Club Tijuana began to push its lines in a last ditch effort to find the win against a Pachuca team that finished with 10-men. Victor Guzman was sent off in the 13th minute, helping the Xoloitzcuintles to move in space while Pachuca defended.

Gustavo Bou opened the scoring in the 42nd minute when he sent in a left-footed shot off a Matias Aguirregaray cross from right to left. The ball was deflected twice before it landed near Bou.

The striker converted for his fourth goal of the season.

Pachuca tied the match in the 63rd minute when Jose Martinez fired a shot from just inside the penalty area, bouncing it past Gibran Lajud.

The Xoloitzcuintles now head into an international FIFA break in LIGA MX. It resumes league action Sept. 9 at Pumas UNAM. But Coudet’s team will face Atlante FC in a Copa MX match Tuesday Aug. 29 at Estadio Caliente.
