| Charges have been filed against a second suspect sought in the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 11902 Hempstead Road about 6:30 p.m. on August 9, 2024.
The suspect, Jose Sierra, 52, is charged with murder in the 488th Criminal District Court. A previous booking photo of Sierra, who is not in custody, is attached to this news release.
A second suspect, Juan Luis Herrejon, 51, is charged with murder in the 182nd State District Court. A booking photo of Herrejon is also attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Dagoberto Ocampo, 44.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives R. Waterwall and K. Amri reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at a gas station at the above address and found an unresponsive male with a gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male deceased.
A preliminary investigation determined the two suspects, identified only as Hispanic males, fled in a red, two-door pickup truck of unknown make or model.
Officers later located the pickup truck and, as the vehicle was being towed, a male exited the residence and identified himself as suspect Herrejon. Officer immediately detained the suspect. Herrerjon admitted to his role in the shooting and he was subsequently charged and booked into the Harris County Jail.
Further investigation identified Sierra as the second suspect. On Tuesday (March 3) he was recently charged and is wanted for his role in the fatal shooting.
