Additional Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 119 West Dyna Drive

Charges have been filed against one suspect and upgraded on a second suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 119 West Dyna Drive about 10:45 p.m. on December 4.

Angel Adonis Saldivar-James, 24, is now charged with capital murder in the 232nd Criminal District Court.  Saldivar-James was previously charged with murder. Oscar Armando Roland Menjevar is also charged with capital murder in the 232nd Criminal District Court. Booking photos of both suspects are attached to this news release.

The victim is identified as Yaddua Barraza Hernandez, 36.

HPD Homicide Detectives J. Caten and K. Stringer reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and located an unresponsive male with a gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male, later identified as Mr. Barraza Hernandez, deceased at the scene.

Further investigation determined that two males walked up to the business. One male shot into the business while the second male took money from the location. Both suspects fled the location on foot.

Investigators later identified the suspect who fired the shot as Saldivar-James. He was arrested on Monday (December 8) and subsequently charged.  Further investigation identified Menjevar as an additional suspect in this case.  Menjevar, who was already in custody, was then charged with capital murder on Saturday (Jan. 17).  At that time charges of murder were dismissed on Saldivar-James and his charges were upgraded to capital murder.

It is believed there are no other suspects in this case.

Anyone with additional information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
