BARC to Host Second Annual BARC-O-Ween Adoption Event

BARC Houston to Host Second Annual “BARC-O-Ween” Adoption Event October 25 with Waived Adoption Fees
HOUSTON – BARC, the City of Houston’s Animal Shelter and Adoption Center, invites Houstonians to the second annual “BARC-O-Ween” adoption event on Saturday, October 25, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 3300 Carr Street.

At this family-friendly event, all adoption fees will be waived—making it the perfect time to welcome a new pet into the family while enjoying a day of fall-themed fun. With hundreds of pets looking for homes, BARC is calling on the community to make a difference by adopting.

This year’s BARC-O-Ween will feature:

  • Waived adoption fees for all pets, courtesy of Trust Guss Injury Lawyers and the Yourgi app
  • Family activities such as trunk-or-treating, face painting and themed photos
  • Local vendors and community partners offering giveaways and resources
  • Food trucks and beverages available for purchase
  • Complimentary adult beverages from Saint Arnold Brewing
  • Free swag bags for the first 75 adopters

“We are excited to bring BARC-O-Ween back for a second year after such a successful debut in 2024,” said BARC Shelter Director Jarrad Mears. “Events like this help us connect with the community, raise awareness for pet adoption, and—most importantly—find loving homes for our animals.”

The event is made possible thanks to generous support from our sponsors, including Petco Love, the Houston BARC Foundation, Friends of BARC, Trust Guss Injury Lawyers, Destination Pet’s Yourgi app, and the Saint Arnold Brewing Company. Attendees can also enjoy shopping local from participating vendors such as Patitas Artesanal, Maddie’s Delights, and PopSton while learning more about local pet resources and responsible pet ownership from businesses such as Revival Training and Emancipet.

Event entry is free, and visitors of all ages are encouraged to attend in family-friendly costumes. Please note that outside pets are not permitted, with the exception of service animals.

More information about sponsors, participating vendors, and activities will be available on our website.
