Judge Hidalgo recently returned from Harris County’s first-ever international trade mission! At the Viva Technology (VivaTech) conference in Paris, Judge Hidalgo met with delegates, business leaders, and international officials to show why Harris County is the best place in the world to do business.
Some of the key results from the trip include:
- Building international relationships
- As a result of Judge Hidalgo’s meeting with France’s largest employer federation, Mouvement des Enterprises de France (MEDEF) International, MEDEF will visit Houston during CERAWeek in 2026.
- Driving international investment to Harris County:
- After meeting with BPIFrance, the country’s largest development bank, BPIFrance announced it will host a French American business forum in Houston in March of 2026. This event will be the first for BPIFrance in Houston, which is a good sign that Harris County is attracting international business.
- Putting Harris County on the map for the industries of the future:
- Evolen, an energy trade association, will lead a group of 25 delegates to visit Harris County this upcoming winter. As the energy capital of the world, Houston/Harris County has so much to offer for international companies looking to invest in the energy field.
