Houston Hurricane Workshop Reimagined with READY365

HOUSTON – The City of Houston Office of Emergency Management (OEM) will host Ready365, a free and updated version of the City’s traditional hurricane workshop, on Saturday, April 25 at the George R. Brown Convention Center Plaza from Noon – 5PM.

Designed as a fun, family-friendly outdoor event, Ready365 encourages Houstonians to take a proactive approach to emergency preparedness all year long. Ready365 will bring together dozens of government agencies, community groups, and nonprofit organizations, offering interactive first responder “touch-a-truck” activities, preparedness resources, demonstrations, and free giveaways. Residents will be able to speak directly with emergency managers, learn practical steps to protect their homes and families, and explore tools to strengthen community resilience.

“Preparedness is not seasonal,” said Houston OEM Director, Brian Mason. “Ready365 reflects our commitment to helping Houstonians build the knowledge, readiness, and confidence they need to be safe during hurricane season and beyond.”

NEW THIS YEAR: To support children and families needing a calmer environment, Ready365 will also offer a sensory-friendly hour from 11 a.m. to noon, providing accommodations for attendees with special needs.

Interviews available upon request.
