Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man found in the 11400 block of South Drive about 8:25 p.m. on May 4.
The suspect, Jessy Saba, 41, is charged with murder in the 482nd State District Court. A booking photo of Saba is attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Merlin Alberto, 27.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives M. Althaus and J. Robles reported:
Officers responded to a report of a deceased male at the above address. They discovered the victim lying unresponsive on the sidewalk and suffering from a gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the man, later identified as Mr. Alberto, deceased at the location.
Further investigation identified Jessy Saba as the suspect. On August 12, the suspect was taken into custody by Huntsville police department. He was subsequently charged for his role in this incident and booked into the Harris County Jail on Tuesday (August 19).
