Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal stabbing of a man that occurred at 3015 Roe Drive about 10:15 a.m. on September 10.
The suspect, James Olvera Jr., 29, is charged with murder and tampering with evidence in the 178th Criminal District Court. A booking photo of Olvera is attached to the news release.
The victim is identified as David Carrion, 53.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants M. Burrow and R. Watson reported:
HPD patrols officers responded to a welfare check at the above address. Officers located an unresponsive male inside the residence and responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male deceased at the scene.
Further Investigation revealed Olvera, the victim’s roommate, as the suspect in this incident. Investigators consulted the Harris County District Attorney’s office and Olvera was charged, arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail on Tuesday (Sept. 16).
