 Suspect Charged, Wanted in Fatal Shooting at 2831 Laura Koppe Road

Charges have been filed against a man sought in the fatal shooting of a woman found at 2831 Laura Koppe Road about 1:50 p.m. on March 30.

The suspect, Eric Eugene Goosby, 48, is charged with murder and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon in the 495th Criminal District Court. A previous booking photo of Goosby, who is not in custody, is attached to this news release.

The identity of the female victim, 50, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Finlay and B. Stephens reported:

Houston Fire Department personnel found the unresponsive female inside an apartment after responding to a person down call. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

HPD patrol officers learned neighbors heard gunshots around 9 p.m. on March 29 and saw a male, believed to be the victim’s boyfriend, leaving the apartment alone.

Further investigation identified Eric Eugene Goosby, the boyfriend of the victim, as the suspect in this case. Detectives consulted the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and Goosby was subsequently charged. At this time, he remains at-large.
