HOUSTON – The City of Houston invites all job seekers to attend the Turnaround Houston Job and Readiness Fair on Thursday, September 21. The event, hosted by the City of Houston’s Office of Business Opportunity, in partnership with Councilmember Carolyn Evans-Shabazz, District D, and Workforce Solutions, will take place at the Emancipation Cultural Center from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. It is part of the Turnaround Houston initiative launched by Mayor Sylvester Turner in 2016 to help Houstonians overcome barriers to employment.
“In a city as diverse and vibrant as ours, it is vital that we offer every resident a chance to thrive,” said Mayor Turner. “The Turnaround Houston Job Readiness Fair is not just about jobs; It’s about empowerment, resilience, and a commitment to breaking down the obstacles that may stand in the way of our citizens’ success. In a time when the world faces unprecedented challenges, Houston stands united in its dedication to creating a brighter future for all.”
The Turnaround Houston Job and Readiness Fair is for ALL job seekers! Whether in search of a fresh start or a new career path, participants will find a wealth of opportunities at this free event. More than 25 employers and resource organizations will be present.

A multitude of full and part-time positions ranging from entry level to experienced upper management will be available in industries such as health, finance and government. Resource organizations will be available to provide information about job readiness tools, training and continuing education.
