“Throughout his championship career, ’Sugar’ Shane Mosley created so many unforgettable moments and entertained fans with his skill and power,” said Hall of Fame director Edward Brophy. “The Hall of Fame is thrilled that he will return to Canastota to help honor the new class of inductees and celebrate the Hall of Fame’s 35th anniversary.”
Fighting out of Pomona, CA, Mosley won over 200 amateur bouts before turning pro in 1993. As a pro he won world titles in three weight divisions (lightweight, welterweight, junior middleweight). During his career, Mosley scored wins over Philip Holiday, John John Molina, “Jesse” James Leija, Oscar De La Hoya, Fernando Vargas, Luis Collazo, Ricardo Mayorga and Antonio Margarito while compiling a 49-10-1, 41 KOs record. Mosley was elected into the Hall of Fame in 2020 in his first year of eligibility.
