Houston Public Library Marks
120 Years on March 2, 2024
Houston Public Library (HPL) celebrates 120 years, a momentous occasion in our city’s history. Since its dedication and public opening on March 2, 1904, HPL has been committed to expanding its resources, services and program offerings. For 120 days, from March – June 2024, we will celebrate by highlighting our growth, contributions to the community, and most importantly our customers through specially planned programs and events.

To further commemorate, HPL will introduce a limited-edition card, a unique and collectible keepsake, to mark this historic milestone. There are two design options featuring exclusive artwork that encapsulates the library’s mission, “We Link People to the World.”

We invite everyone, including existing cardholders, to visit any Houston Public Library location starting March 2, 2024, to secure your exclusive MYLink Card. Additionally, by engaging in 120 events, you’ll have a chance to receive complimentary limited-edition merchandise.
