Today, Judge Lina Hidalgo joined Harris County in honoring President Jimmy Carter’s incredible legacy of service. From his work with Habitat for Humanity—like the 1998 Houston blitz that built 100 homes in one week—to his groundbreaking mental health advocacy, his impact endures. She proclaimed this Thursday as President Jimmy Carter Day in Harris County to honor his vision of community and resilience. The public is welcome to view and sign the memorial wall between now and January 9th, 9 am – 6 pm. The live-streamed funeral services will be held at Barbara Bush Literacy Plaza on January 9th.
