Leesburg Police Investigate Commercial Burglary
Leesburg, VA – On Thursday, December 29, 2022, at shortly after 2:00 A.M., Leesburg Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a burglary that had occurred a few minutes prior at Tobacco King, located at 345 East Market Street. Responding officers determined that the pictured subject had shattered the business’ plate glass door and had taken an undetermined amount of merchandise from the business. The suspect fled the business prior to officers being dispatched.
As a possible deterrent, it is recommended that business owners take the following precautions in order to discourage would be burglars: leave interior lights on and leave your empty cash drawer open while your business is closed, install motion activated lighting, install security cameras, and install audible alarms.
The incident remains under investigation by the Leesburg Police Department Criminal Investigation Section.
