Afram 2024 1BALTIMORE, MD (Thursday, April 25, 2024) –Today, Mayor Brandon M. Scott and Baltimore City Recreation & Parks announced plans for the 47th annual AFRAM Festival. AFRAM returns to the historic Druid Hill Park Saturday, June 22 and Sunday, June 23, from 12-9 p.m. (both days). The City of Baltimore is continuing the annual AFRAM tradition, celebrating Black excellence in fashion, art, music, business, and culture again this summer.

Baltimore’s AFRAM is a free event featuring local artists, business owners, and makers who display their goods, talents, and services to thousands of attendees. It is one of the largest African-American, cultural-arts fairs on the East Coast.

“Each year, AFRAM brings Baltimore together to celebrate our city’s history, culture, community, and love for music,” said Mayor Brandon M. Scott. “As one of the largest Black arts and culture fairs on the East Coast, it gives us an opportunity to celebrate the best of Baltimore and gather together to show the world what we have to offer. I could not be more excited that this year we’re celebrating 40 years of House Music with the help of legends like the Basement Boys and to welcome fantastic artists like Busta Rhymes, Mya, Alex Isley, and many, many more that will ensure there is an act for all ages on this year’s AFRAM stage. Let’s get ready to celebrate Baltimore this summer!”

Gracing the stage are:

  • Alex Isley
  • Big Daddy Kane
  • Karen Clark Sheard
  • October London
  • Mýa
  • Morris Day and The Time
  • Busta Rhymes

This year’s AFRAM will also feature a celebration of 40 years of House Music, showcasing the unique history of the genre, it’s origins in Baltimore, and local legends that became national sensations like the Basement Boys.

WJZ-TV and 92Q Jams are AFRAM’s official broadcast media sponsors. CANE Collective and The SEED School of Maryland are serving as partners. Additionally, the City is supporting The SEED School of Maryland’s RUN-UP-TO Juneteenth 5k Run and 1 Mile Walk, happening Sunday, June 9.

“AFRAM is about the residents of Baltimore coming together to celebrate Black culture while experiencing some of the most dynamic voices in music, art, and creativity. Our talent team did a phenomenal job and really knocked it out of the park with lining up the artists for AFRAM 2024.” said Director Reginald Moore, Baltimore City Recreation & Parks. “And there’s no better way for attendees to enjoy this festival than at one of Baltimore’s most iconic parks. We’re grateful for the support of the Scott Administration, community, local vendors, and strong partnerships that makes this event possible.”

Applications are now open for talent and vendors. Attendees are encouraged to visit for more details.
