Standing in front of a delicious display of food from restaurants owned by two Houston families, Mayor John Whitmire prepared to send Pappas Bar-B-Q and Irma’s Original Mexican Restaurant cuisine to the mayor of Kansas City following the Jan. 18 Texans—Chiefs game.
Mayor Whitmire is sending the package with a special condition: that Mayor Quinton Lucas divide his winnings with the NFL referees who called the game.
Before the divisional round playoff game, a friendly challenge was issued. KC Mayor Quinto Lucas wagered some Kansas City barbecue if the Texans won. Mayor Whitmire accepted the challenge and upped the ante with a promise to send Pappas Bar-B-Q and Irma’s Original Mexican Food if the Texans lost. |
