Tupac Shakur Street Renaming and Peace Pole Unveiling in Mullan Park

On Friday, May 8, 2026, the Mayor’s Office of Arts, Culture, and Entertainment proudly partnered with the Tupac Shakur Foundation to re-unveil Tupac Shakur Way on Greenmount Avenue and a Peace Pole in Mullan Park on York Road.

The day was filled with joy, reflection, memories, and excitement as neighbors, community leaders, and visitors gathered to celebrate the life and legacy of Tupac Shakur and the lasting impact he made during his time in Baltimore.

In honor of his legacy, students Kaiden Jones from Paul Laurence Dunbar High School and Nala Collins from Roland Park Middle School performed both Tupac’s poetry and original works inspired by his message and influence. Attendees also enjoyed musical performances by students from the Baltimore School for the Arts, took photographs with the Orioles Bird, and sampled delicious wings and fries from Bailey’s Avenue food truck.

The celebration culminated in a procession down Rose Hill Terrace, led by Mayor Brandon M. Scott, as residents and visitors came together in music and fellowship for the re-unveiling of the Tupac Shakur Way street sign. The event served as a powerful reminder of Tupac’s enduring connection to Baltimore and the importance of preserving the stories and legacies that continue to inspire future generations.
