| ORLANDO, FL (June 16, 2026) – Boxlab Promotions’ undefeated bantamweight sensation Jordan Orozco (17-0, 17 KOs) continued his meteoric rise through the division with a statement-making performance Saturday night, stopping durable veteran Fernando Diaz (18-8-1, 6 KOs) in the third round of their scheduled 10-round bantamweight contest at the Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, Florida.
The bout, promoted by Most Valuable Promotions in association with Boxlab Promotions and streamed live worldwide on ESPN+, showcased Orozco’s devastating punching power and relentless pressure as he kept his 100% knockout streak intact.
After losing round one, Orozco came back and controlled the action with sharp combinations, precise timing, and calculated aggression. Diaz, who entered the bout with a reputation for toughness and had never stopped, found himself overwhelmed by Orozco’s speed, accuracy, and power. After two consecutive one-sided rounds, Diaz’s corner made the decision to halt the contest before the start of round four, resulting in a third-round technical knockout victory for the rising star.
The victory marked yet another milestone for Orozco, who not only maintained his unbeaten record but also became the first fighter to stop Diaz inside the distance.
«This was a huge win for me because Fernando Diaz is a tough, experienced fighter who had never been stopped before,» said Orozco. «I knew coming into this fight that making a statement against someone with his experience would show people that I’m ready for bigger opportunities. My goal was to dominate every round and prove that I belong with the top bantamweights in the world. To be the first fighter to stop him means a lot because it shows the level I’m operating at and the work my team and I have been putting in behind the scenes.»
The performance is expected to elevate Orozco’s standing in one of boxing’s deepest divisions and further establish him as one of the sport’s most exciting young prospects.
«I believe this win takes my career to new heights,» Orozco continued. «Every fight is about getting better and growing. Beating a respected veteran like Diaz the way I did proves that I’m ready to move forward and face tougher competition. I’m still young, still learning, and still hungry, but I feel like this performance showed that I’m no longer just a prospect. I’m becoming a serious contender, and I want everyone in the division to know that I’m coming.»
With another explosive performance added to his résumé, Orozco made it clear that he has no plans to slow down.
«I want to stay active and keep building momentum,» said Orozco, about returning to the ring. «If it were up to me, I’d be back in the ring as soon as possible. I’m healthy, I’m improving every time out, and I want to keep gaining experience against quality opposition. The best way to keep developing is to stay busy, so hopefully I’ll be back later this summer or early fall. I’m ready for whatever challenge comes next.»
As the bantamweight division continues to evolve, Orozco currently ranked top 10 in the WBA and WBO, believes he is positioning himself for a rapid climb up the rankings.
«The rankings are where I want to be focused now,» Orozco concluded, who is ranked WBA #8 and WBO #10. «Every fight is another step toward a world title opportunity. I know there are a lot of talented fighters in this division, but I believe in my abilities and my work ethic. I’m not looking to skip steps, but I do want to keep moving forward. The goal is to continue climbing the rankings and eventually fight for a world championship. That’s what I’ve been working toward my entire life.»
Boxlab Promotions President Amaury Piedra believes Orozco’s future is exceptionally bright and sees championship opportunities on the horizon for the undefeated knockout artist.
«Jordan Orozco continues to prove that he’s one of the most exciting young fighters in boxing,» said Piedra. Seventeen fights, seventeen knockouts is something you simply don’t see very often, especially in the lower weight classes. His power is real, his confidence is growing, and he’s showing tremendous maturity inside the ring.»
Piedra believes Orozco possesses all the tools necessary to become a major force in the bantamweight division.
«When you combine Jordan’s natural ability, his work ethic, and his finishing instincts, you have a fighter with tremendous upside,» Piedra added. «Stopping a veteran like Fernando Diaz, who had never been stopped before, is a significant accomplishment. We believe Jordan has all the attributes to become a world champion. We’re going to continue developing him the right way, but there’s no question that he’s moving closer to becoming a major player in the bantamweight division. The future is extremely bright.» |
