Street Closure to Occur During Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. March
Leesburg, VA (January 13, 2023) – The annual Martin Luther King, Jr. March and Celebration will be held on Monday, January 16.
The event will begin at the Loudoun County Courthouse at 10 a.m. Marchers will proceed from the courthouse lawn to East Market Street as they make their way to Frederick Douglass Elementary School (510 Principal Drummond Way SE).
Sections of East Market Street, from North King Street to Catoctin Circle, will be closed beginning at 9:30 a.m. in preparation for the march. Rolling street closures will take place as the event proceeds along East Market Street to Sycolin Road which will also see a temporary closure. Drivers should follow police direction and be prepared for minor delays.
Individuals, families, schools, businesses, civic groups, and religious organizations are all welcome to participate. The organizer is asking that participants wear a mask and social distance. For more
