Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Crash at 6300 Antoine Drive
Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the fatal crash that occurred at 6300 Antoine Drive about 7:45 a.m. on Thursday (June 18).

Martha Alicia Oliva Padilla, 41, is charged with murder in the 179th Criminal District Court and failure to stop and render aid causing death in the 228th Criminal District Court.  A booking photo of Padilla is attached to this news release.

The identity of the deceased male, 38, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Arrington and Detective M. Castillo reported:

Officers were patrolling the area when they were flagged down and were told about a male who was lying in the roadway.  Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male deceased at the scene.

Witnesses described the suspect vehicle as a black Honda SUV and while searching the area were able to locate the vehicle in a nearby apartment complex with the engine running and vehicle damage.  Additional evidence was located that identified the female suspect and her location.  The suspect, Padilla, was located in another nearby apartment complex.

Officers spoke to witnesses who stated the Padilla has been arguing with the victim.  The victim had attempted to take the battery out of their vehicle when Padilla got in the vehicle and began driving.  Padilla struck the victim and fled the scene.

Officers arrested Padilla and she was booked into the Harris County Jail. The investigation is continuing.
