HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Ledford and M. Barton reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a 9-1-1 call at an apartment complex at the above address and found Houston Fire Department paramedics providing medical assistance to a man for a gunshot wound.  The man told police he was in his bedroom and heard a gunshot from the living room.  When he went to investigate, he saw his roommate unresponsive on the floor while a female suspect, holding a pistol, stood over him.  Fearing for his life, the man fled to his bedroom, and was shot just as he escaped through the second floor window.  The victim stated to police the female arrived at the apartment to speak to his roommate.  Paramedics were called and transported the victim, 55, to an area hospital.

Officers entered the apartment and found the roommate unresponsive and with a gunshot wound.  HFD paramedics pronounced him deceased.

Fort Bend County Sherriff’s Office deputies located and detained the female suspect.  The surviving victim positively identified the woman as Shaymone Fonteneaux as the person who shot him.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and Fonteneaux was subsequently charged for her role in this case.  She was booked into the Harris County Jail.
