Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man and wounding of a woman at 419 West Little York Road about 11:05 p.m. on Sunday (Oct. 20).
The suspect, Abram Gonzalez, 25, is charged with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 232nd State District Court. A booking photo of Gonzalez is attached to this news release.
The identity of the deceased victim, 29, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. The female victim, 56, suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants M. Cass, C. LaFour and Detectives J. Brown and A. Hernandez reported:
Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at a strip center parking lot at the above address and located a male lying outside the front doors of a business. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced him deceased. Officers learned a second victim, a female, suffered a gunshot wound to her right leg. Paramedics transported her to an area hospital, where doctors said she is expected to survive her injuries.
Further investigation and witness statements identified Gonzalez as the suspect in this incident. He turned himself in to HPD North Patrol Division officers on Monday (Oct. 21), admitted to his role in the shooting and was subsequently charged.
