Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 4922 Lockwood Drive

 

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 4922 Lockwood Drive about 5:25 p.m. on Sunday (Dec. 3).

The suspect, Anthony Ray Gardner, 42, is charged with murder and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon in the 232nd State District Court. A booking photo of Gardner is attached to this news release.

He’s accused in the death of Dwayne Robinson, 53.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Herrera and A. Finlay reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call in a business parking lot at the above address and found the male victim with multiple gunshot wounds.  Paramedics pronounced the man, later identified as Mr. Robinson, deceased.

Detectives learned the suspect fired multiple times, striking Robinson, who was standing in the parking lot. The suspect vehicle then fled the scene. The vehicle was later recovered at a nearby gas station.

Further investigation identified Gardner as the suspect in this case. On Monday (Dec. 4), members of the HPD Northeast Patrol Division’s Crime Suppression Team arrested Gardner and he was subsequently charged for his role in the incident.
