| Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting of a man at 788 Bateswood Drive about 8:35 p.m. last Friday (Jan. 5).
The suspect, Joe Moses Rodriguez, 37, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 209th State District Court. A booking photo of Rodriguez is attached to this news release.
The victim, 34, was transported to an area hospital in critical, but stable condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detective S. De La Cruz reported:
Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at the apartment complex at the above address and located the victim outside an apartment. He had suffered gunshot wounds. Paramedics transported the male to the hospital. Doctors stated the victim is expected to survive and recover after treatment.
Detectives learned the male was shot by a suspect known to him. Rodriguez was detained at the scene and identified as the suspect. He was taken to the Harris County Jail and charged for his role in the shooting.
