Suspect Arrested, Charged in Woman’s Death at 1900 Nance Street

 

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the death of a woman found at 1900 Nance Street about 5:40 p.m. last Friday (Jan. 5).

The suspect, Shania Laneice Turner, 24, is charged with murder in the 232nd State District Court. A booking photo of Turner is attached to this news release.

The victim is identified as Tierra Horn, 18.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Ponder and Detectives K. Stringer and A. Graf reported:

Patrol officers, investigators and Harris County Precinct 6 Constable deputies were searching an area near the bayou at the above address and located Ms. Horn’s body near the bayou.  She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

An autopsy by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences ruled Horn’s death a homicide.

Further investigation identified Turner as the suspect in this case.  She was subsequently charged, arrested on Thursday (Jan. 11) and booked into the Harris County Jail.
