| Charges have been filed against a suspect in the 2007 fatal strangulation of a woman found at 9555 Crofton Street on September 15, 2007.
The suspect, Zachary Harper, 47, is charged with murder in the 338th Criminal District Court. A previous booking photo of Harper, who was already in custody, is attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Yoshea Jarmon, 29.
HPD Homicide Division Detective J. Caten reported:
Ms. Jarmon was found deceased inside her apartment and appeared to have been strangled. Witnesses claimed to have seen a male believed to be Zachary Harper in the area of the victim’s apartment around the time she was located deceased. The victim’s vehicle was taken and located a few days later near a location where the suspect was staying.
HPD Homicide Cold Case Unit detectives believe there was a history of family violence between the victim and the suspect. After further investigation and evidence testing, the Harris County District Attorney’s Office was consulted and the suspect was charged.
Harper is currently in jail on murder charges for an unrelated incident.
