Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a woman at 8237 Locksley Road about 8:35 p.m. on Thursday (September 12).
The suspect, Jalin J. Foreman, 27, is charged with murder in the 178th State District Court. A photo of Foreman, who is not in custody, is attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Jalen Whitlock, 25.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives H. Montealegre-Cerrato and G. Rangel reported:
HPD patrol officers and Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to a shooting call at a townhome at the above address and found an unresponsive woman with gunshot wounds in the doorway of her residence. Paramedics pronounced the victim, later identified as Ms. Whitlock, deceased.
A preliminary investigation determined an unknown suspect arrived at the location and began yelling at someone. According to witnesses, the suspect then pulled out a weapon and fired shots at the house. Whitlock was struck by the gunfire. No one else inside the residence was injured The suspect then fled the scene in a vehicle described as a white Chevrolet Tahoe.
Further investigation identified Foreman as the suspect. He and Ms. Whitlock were in a previous relationship and had two children together.
