Suspect Charged, Wanted in February Fatal Shooting at 303 Rosamond Street
Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 303 Rosamond Street about 6:25 p.m. on February 1, 2021.

The suspect, Patrick Donell Greene (b/m, 28), is charged with murder in the 177th State District Court.  A photo of Greene, who is not in custody, is attached to this news release.

The victim, Mario Simpson, 20, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Bock and J. Stroble reported:

Officers were flagged down by a passerby who stated there was a person down in a breezeway area of the apartment complex at the above address.  Officers observed the man, later identified as Mr. Simpson, unresponsive and with at least one gunshot wound to his body.  Paramedics pronounced Simpson deceased.

There was no known motive or suspect in the shooting.

Further investigation identified Greene as the suspect.  Charges were formally filed against him last Friday (July 16).  He remains at large.
