State of the City 2024

The State of the City event was truly an incredible gathering, with a full house and an energy that was both positive and inspiring. It was a moment to celebrate all we’ve achieved together in the past eight months, from our city’s

strong response to the May derecho and Hurricane Beryl to reaching a collective bargaining agreement with the Houston Professional Firefighters Association. The enthusiasm in the room reflected the unity and pride we all share in making Houston a great place to live, work, and thrive.

While we celebrated our accomplishments, we also recognized the challenges ahead, and I’m confident we will continue to tackle them together. From addressing quality-of-life issues like homelessness to ensuring our essential services remain strong, I look forward to working alongside each of you to keep Houston moving forward.

The energy and support in that room reminded me why I’m ready to give you the best years of my life, committed to building a brighter future for our city.
