LOS ANGELES, CA (March 20, 2023) – Team Combat League is excited to announce the introduction of a thrilling new combat sport, the team sport of Brawling. Brawling utilizes traditional boxing rules, is regulated by boxing commission officials, but differs from the sweet science in that each fighter fights a one round bout as opposed to the traditional 4-rounds currently necessary for a boxing match to be considered an official bout. Each round is scored individually, and points awarded count towards the respective teams totals. Rules of the new sport can be found at teamcombatleague.com.
Each team will fight twelve consecutive weeks during the regular season. The four highest ranked teams will fight in a one-night semi-final doubleheader, and the final two teams to advance will square off the TCL MegaBrawl 1 to crown the season one champion.
Team Combat League’s inaugural season will involve matches between 8 franchises which include:

  • LA Ten Goose
  • NYC Attitude
  • Philadelphia Smoke
  • Las Vegas Hustle
  • Dallas Enforcers
  • San Antonio Snipers
  • Atlanta Attack
  • DC Destroyers
Team Combat League Brawling matches will feature fighters from six weight classes.

  • Female Featherweight 126lbs
  • Male Lightweight 135lbs
  • Male Welterweight 147lbs
  • Male Middleweight 160lbs
  • Male Light Heavyweight 175lbs
  • Male Heavyweight 201lbs+
There are two halves of 12 rounds in each TCL match, for a total of 24 rounds per contest. Each team dresses 3 fighters per weight class. Each fighter may fight a maximum of one round per half.
The historic opening nights of Team Combat League will feature all 8 teams in action and will take place at Mohegan Sun Expo Center on Wednesday March 29th and Thursday March 30th. Streaming of all TCL matches will be available for $12.99 exclusively at TeamCombatLeague.com. This inaugural season will conclude with the TCL MegaBrawl 1, currently scheduled to take place on Sunday July 9, 2023.
“We believe Brawling will extend the appeal of boxing to fans who have not traditionally been fans of combat sports”, said Ahmed Sheikh CEO of Team Combat League. “Our sport contains more than 2.5 times the action per match as compared to baseball, basketball, football, and hockey. We believe the all-out brawls in our fights will have everyone watching on the edge of their seats.”
“We are extremely excited to be introducing a new combat sport that is designed to appeal to a new generation of fans,” said respected combat expert Dewey Cooper, the President of Team Combat League. “Our sport combines the science of boxing with the fast-paced action of MMA. We can’t wait for fans to get the opportunity to enjoy what we have created. I challenge anyone to view our sport and not get hooked.”
