| A suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 10055 Belknap Road that occurred about 1 p.m. on June 6 has been arrested.
The suspect, Axzey Mojica, 22 is charged with murder in Fort Bend County. Mojica’s booking photo is attached to this news release.
Another suspect, Iddris Umaru, 23, suffered a fatal self-inflicted gunshot wound as law enforcement officers attempted to take him into custody. He was also charged with murder in Fort Bend County.
The victim is identified as Sean Bree, 39.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives J. Smith and D. Toledo reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call in the parking lot of a strip center at the above address and located a male with a gunshot wound. The victim was later pronounced deceased at an area hospital.
Investigators identified Umaru and Mojica as persons of interest in this case. Further investigation identified both of them as suspects and they were charged on Tuesday (June 9).
On June 13, members of the U.S. Marshals Services’ Gulf Coast Violent Offender Task Force and HPD Westside Patrol Division’s Crime Suppression Team located both suspects at a business at 105 West Road. As law enforcement tried to apprehend the suspects, Umaru produced a handgun and fatally shot himself. Mojica was arrested without incident.
