| Two suspects charged and wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 13360 Northborough Drive around 3:35 p.m. on May 11, 2025, are in custody.
A suspect Carnell Anderson, 17, is charged with murder in an Harris County Juvenile District Court. A previously released photo of Anderson is attached to this news release. *As a juvenile at the time charges were filed against him, his identity and photo were approved for release with a court order from a district judge.*
The second suspect, Cameron Ray, 20, is charged with murder in the 496th State District Court. An Orleans Parish Prison booking photo of Ray is attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Davion Elzy, 16.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Lamont and Detective A. Herrera reported:
HPD patrol officers were flagged down about a shooting in the parking lot of a convenience store at the above address. Officers located the male victim with multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics transported the victim, later identified as Mr. Elzy, to HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest where doctors pronounced him deceased.
Further investigation identified Cameron Ray as a suspect in the death of Elzy. After consulting the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, Ray was charged for his role in this incident.
Investigators also identified Carnell Anderson as a suspect in this case and he was subsequently charged for his role in this incident.
A judge in the 313th District Court signed an order permitting HPD to release the name and a photo of the wanted juvenile suspect, Anderson.
Anderson was later arrested on October 9, 2025. The U.S. Marshals Service and the Louisiana State Police Troop NOLA collaborated to arrested Ray in New Orleans, LA, on July 17, 2026. He is awaiting extradition to Harris County.
