Suspect Arrested, Charged in November 2022 Fatal Shooting at 9955 Buffalo Speedway

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 9955 Buffalo Speedway about 11:05 a.m. on Nov. 17, 2022.

The suspect Zourian Stephon Lewis, 17, is charged with murder in the 263rd State District Court.  A booking photo of Lewis is attached to this news release.

The victim is identified as Arne Richardson, 36.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Lopez and Detective N. Sharp reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at the apartment complex at the above address and discovered an unresponsive male in a grassy area just outside the fence line of the parking lot.  Paramedics pronounced the man, later identified as Mr. Richardson, deceased with multiple gunshot wounds.

Detectives learned Richardson and his girlfriend encountered several young males attempting to break into vehicles in the parking lot.  When Richardson ran after one of the suspects in an attempt to recover property taken from his girlfriend, he was shot by a male suspect, described at that time as a black male wearing a lime green jacket and gray pants.  Surveillance photos of the suspect were previously released to the public on November 18, 2022.

Further investigation identified Lewis as the suspect in this case.  On Thursday (February 23), Lewis was arrested without incident and subsequently charged for his role in the shooting.
