| Charges have been filed against one suspect arrested and three others wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 5901 Selinsky Road about 4:25 a.m. on May 18.
The arrested suspect, Jarrell Tavon Wheeler, 21, is charged with capital murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 228th State District Court. A booking photo of Wheeler is attached to this news release.
The wanted suspects Jamal Ray Brown, 21, Quitiana Rene Taylor, 21, and Mariah Corinthian Green, 23, are also charged with capital murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 228th State District Court. Photos of the three suspects, who are not in custody, are attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Otis Parker Jr., 35.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives W. Huff and J. Nguyen reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call in an apartment complex parking lot at the above address. They found Mr. Parker Jr. unresponsive in the driver’s seat of a vehicle, which appeared to have been involved in a crash, and an uninjured female passenger. Houston Fire Department paramedics declared Parker Jr. deceased from a gunshot wound.
Further investigation identified Brown, Taylor, Wheeler, and Green as the suspects in this case. They were charged for their roles in the incident on Tuesday (June 27). On Thursday (June 29), Wheeler was arrested. The three other suspects remain at large.
