| Charges have been filed against two suspects arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 5900 Clarewood Drive about 11:50 p.m. on December 31, 2023.
The suspects, Robert MIguel Pena, 24, and Eduardo Alvarez, 21, are charged with murder in the 263rd State District Court. Booking photos of the suspects are attached to this news release.
They are accused for their roles in the killing of a male, 20, whose identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Duncan and Detective J. Wallschlaeger reported:
The victim lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a light pole at the above address. Officers and paramedics determined he had gunshot wounds. He was transported to an area hospital and pronounced deceased on January 2.
Further investigation identified Pena and Alvarez as the suspects in this case. Last Thursday (Jan. 11), officers with the HPD South Gessner Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team arrested both suspects without incident. Pena and Alvarez were then taken to the Harris County Jail.
