City Hosts Annual Bike To Work Day Downtown Ride on Friday, May 19  

WHAT: Houstonians are encouraged to strap on their helmets, lace up their shoes and pedal to work on Friday. The City of Houston is celebrating Bike Month in May by hosting the annual Bike To Work Day downtown ride on Friday, May 19. During National Bike Month, Houston joins cities across the nation by recognizing bicycles as a viable, safe, sustainable and healthy, transportation option and form of recreation. We invite Houstonians to join a short ride starting at EaDo Bike Co and along parts of the Columbia Tap Trail. This group will include city employees, bike advocates and other Houstonians.

WHEN: Friday, May 19, 2023
7:15 – 7:30 a.m.: Riders arrive at EaDo Bike Co., 912 St. Charles St.
7:30 – 7:50 a.m.: Participants depart and ride to City Hall
8:10 – 8:30 a.m. Planning & Development Director and Mayor Sylvester Turner give comments
in front of City Hall
8:30 – 8:40 a.m.: Media questions/Photo ops in front of City Hall

WHERE:
Bike Route

• Meet at EaDo Bike Co by 7:15 a.m.
• Take Columbia Tap Trail S.E.
• Trail curves to the S.W.
• Turn right on Polk St.
• Turn right on Austin St.
• Turn left on Lamar St.
• Turn right on Bagby St.
• Turn right on McKinney St.
• City Hall is on the left, ride will end by 8 a.m.
