KEY LEADERSHIP POSITIONS
HOUSTON – Houston Public Works has filled several key leadership positions as a plan to transform the department. The new members complete vacancies from the Executive Team.

Chief Operating Officer – Randy Macchi

Randy Macchi joined Houston Public Works as Chief Operating Officer in March 2023.

Before joining the City of Houston, Randy founded and served as Chief Executive Officer at Confident Leadership Coaching. Randy has nearly 24 years of experience as a corporate executive and lawyer.

An accomplished leadership development coach and award-winning public speaker, Randy is also a certified Mediator in the state of Texas, and an Inductee of the National Order of Barristers.

Randy graduated with a Juris Doctorate from the University of Houston Law Center and a Bachelor of Arts from Brigham Young University.

Deputy Chief of Staff – Perri Storey

Perri Storey joined the City of Houston in March 2023 as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Houston Public Works.

Prior to joining the City of Houston, Perri served as Communications Manager for the University of Houston Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine.

Prior to moving to Houston, Perri served as Communications Manager for the City of La Mesa, California and Director of Communications for the Fourth Council District in the City of San Diego. Perri has more than 27 years of experience in communications, public works, crisis management, human resources, and government relations.

Perri graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wayne State University.

Director of Government Relations – Roberto Medina

Roberto Medina was named the Director of Government Relations for Houston Public Works in March 2023.

Roberto served in an interim role since October 2022. Roberto has more than 27 years of experience with the City of Houston.

He previously held positions in the Solid Waste Department and the Mayor’s Office before joining Houston Public Works. Roberto has served as TPIA/Subpoena Coordinator, Media Relations Liaison, Council Office Liaison, APWA Re-Accreditation Co-Manager and Emergency Management Coordinator.

Roberto graduated with Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Houston. He recently completed the Certified Public Manager certification program at the University of Houston and is Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt) certified from the City of Houston.
