Find Your «Boo» at BARC: Select Adoption Fees Reduced While Shelter at Critical Capacity
HOUSTON – Spooky deals are in full swing all week at BARC, the City of Houston’s Animal Shelter and Adoption Center! Come adopt your new «boo» for a reduced fee, now through October 31:

  • $20 adoption fees for all dogs five months or older
  • $5 adoption fees for select pets
  • $20 adoption fees for all cats and kittens
  • $75 adoption fees for all puppies four months or younger

Visit BARC’s adoption center today at 3300 Carr St. Houston TX, 77026. BARC is currently open:

  • 12 – 7 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays
  • 12 – 5 p.m. Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays

«These adoption specials come at a crucial time when our facility is nearly full. BARC is starting the day with limited open kennels for dog intake, and both adoption buildings are nearly full,» said BARC Shelter Director Greg Damianoff. «Every divider in our south adoption building is down, and our treatment wards are completely full with dogs receiving medical treatment. Difficult decisions must be made as we continue to intake 70-100 animals daily. If you’ve ever considered signing up to help as a foster or have wanted to adopt a shelter pet, now is the perfect time.»To further assist adoptable pets, BARC urges Houstonians to assist the shelter in growing its local foster/rescue network and encourages potential adopters to look first at shelter pets. If you or anyone in your network is interested in partnering with the shelter to share information about adoptable pets or sponsor an event or program, please visit https://www.houstontx.gov/barc/get_involved.html.
